Night Swimming, which is the third album by Asbury Park indie pop jangle surf rockers Dentist, boasts 11 addictive songs for the summer that we’ll take with us long after September ends.
Comprised of Emily Bornemann on vocals and bass, Justin Bornemann on guitars, and Matt Hockenjos on drums, the band met on the oceanfront urban landscape of the East Coast. They sound like they are really keen on punk, surf punk, garage-oriented jams, indie rock, and alternative fuzz.
The band’s sonic approach is to write very groovy jams that are catchy, fuzzy and melodic. It’s all new and fresh indie rock that doesn’t play it safe and the result is an album that’s charismatic and infectious.
The official video for the title track has just come out features the band showing up to a joint to meet their people and jam along.
I like their music, I like their look, and I like their style.
Dentist’s nationwide tour run through August, and it’s their longest US tour to date, spanning coast to coast.
