Stereo Embers’ Photo Editor Geoff Tischman saw Joan Osborne at the Fairfield Theatre in Connecticut and he came back to the office raving about her performance.
“I spent the early 90’s recording live music all over NYC,” Geoff told us.”I would go out four or five nights a week and had lots of regular artists that I would follow around–Joan Osborne was one of them. I always loved seeing her–whether it was with her own band or making a guest appearance with another band (Blues Traveler, Spin Doctors, Warren Haynes Band), she always tore the house down. I was so excited to see her again at the Fairfield Theatre and she didn’t disappoint. She complained about having a sore throat which limited her vocal range, but to me and the other fans at the show she still sounded fantastic. It was a very intimate setting and her performance was soulful and rousing. She was accompanied only by her longtime guitarist Jack Petruzzelli and keyboardist Keith Cotton, both outstanding musicians. It was a powerful and moving night of music.”
