Michaels, who sang for the legendary Operation Ivy (and later Common Rider and Classics of Love), is an accomplished visual artist whose work has been used by the likes of Green Day, Neurosis and Filth.
He’s also the man behind Operation Ivy’s various iconography, including the band’s ubiquitous ska man logo, which features a pouncing shadowed figure in a pork-pie hat.
Michaels’ original artwork features renderings of The Ramones, Joe Strummer, Blondie and Operation Ivy.
But the pieces are not all of musicians and whether they’re of lounging jungle cats or subjects pulled straight from noir thrillers, Michaels’ range is impressive and varied.
Michaels is also the author of the novel Whispering Bodies: A Roy Belkin Disaster.
For the next three days (Nov. 27-29), Michaels is offering a 15% discount on his work.
